Ernie Rangel
Ernie’s a creative director, filmmaker, and photographer who’s passionate about telling stories that point people back to Jesus. He’s gotten to create alongside some incredible artists and teams in the worship space, from Red Worship, Lizzie Morgan, Sean Feucht, World Worship, and Daniel Calveti to The Table Music, where he helps capture live recordings.
He’s also been part of some pretty incredible worship moments through events like the Harvest Crusade at Angel Stadium with artists like Phil Wickham, Chris Tomlin, Cody Carnes, and Kari Jobe, as well as San Diego Movement. He also works with Aleman Creative Group, helping bring their work with some of the biggest Spanish-speaking artists to life.
Whether he’s behind a camera at a live worship night or creating something from the ground up, Ernie’s heart is to use what he’s been given to make much of Jesus.
What dream are you currently turning into reality?
I currently serve as a creative director at a church in Titusville, Florida, where I get to lead an amazing team of creatives, and share what God is doing in and through the church every week. I’m also working toward launching my own creative agency that partners with churches and businesses to help them tell meaningful stories through film, photography and creative social content. My ultimate dream is more than creating something that looks good, but to help people feel seen, communicate something real and make a lasting impact.
When did you first realize you discovered your dream?
2 years ago - Our media director at my home church moved out of state, so I picked up the camera and started there. It grew in me, and I had a big vision to shoot for Christian artists and anything that glorified God.
How does your faith go hand in hand with pursuing your dream?
For me, my faith and my dreams can’t be separated. My relationship with God gives purpose to what I’m pursuing. I’ve learned that it’s not just about asking God to bless my dreams - it’s about surrendering them to Him and allowing Him to shape them.
There are moments when doors don’t open, things don’t happen the way I expected, or the journey gets difficult. That’s where faith comes in. I have to trust that God sees what I can’t see. My goal is to keep pursuing what He’s placed on my heart while making sure I’m pursuing Him more than anything else. Without God, I’m nothing.
What’s one or two practical steps you take to keep moving forward?
I create a schedule
Honestly trying to spend time with God every single day so I can move forward with no stress.
What encouragement would you share with someone who’s going after their dream?
Don’t give up just because it doesn’t look the way you thought it would. One thing I’ve learned is that the dream God puts in you will require patience, sacrifice, and a lot of obedience.
There have been seasons where I questioned if I was even going in the right direction, but I kept showing up.
Don’t chase the platform, chase God. Don’t compare your journey to somebody else’s. Stay faithful with what’s in your hands right now, even when nobody sees it.
