What dream are you currently turning into reality?

For a long time, the dream for me was to be on tour, and then a few years ago I realized I was doing it, but it wasn’t as fulfilling as I imagined it to be. I still love touring, but I think the dream has evolved into creating meaningful work with my friends that we’re all proud of. I eventually want to move more into creative direction.

When did you first realize you discovered your dream?

I was always drawn to music and photography, and I’m a big Paramore fan. I remember early on, in the Flickr and Tumblr days, seeing live photos of them and realizing that people did that for a living. I decided that one day I could do that as well.

Something about me is that once I set my mind to something, I will do anything to make it happen. So when I got my first camera, I started reaching out to venues and publications and asking if I could photograph local shows in Miami. Then it just kind of snowballed from there.

How does your faith go hand in hand with pursuing your dream?

My relationship with Jesus is the source. EVERYTHING flows through that. I trust the Lord with every single event, job, tour — literally everything. I truly believe that as I capture the hearts of these rooms, the Lord captures my heart more and more.

What’s one or two practical steps you take to keep moving forward?

Never stop learning.

What encouragement would you share with someone who’s going after their dream?

Even those of us who are well into our careers have seasons of questioning what we’re doing or feeling imposter syndrome. Just stay the course. Make sure you have friends around you that you can lean on. If you’re still finding joy in your work, that’s a reason to keep going.
